The Role

SurveyMonkey is hiring engineers who have a passion for solving complex and interesting problems. As a Software Engineer on the Billing Team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the services and infrastructure that handles our Billing platform. You will also be working with other product teams to enable SurveyMonkey add more features and functionalities for users all over the world.

In addition to that, you will:

  • Build a platform with consistent and coherent service APIs
  • Build systems that handle customers' sensitive data with regards to the highest standards for security and compliance
  • Design fault tolerant systems that can scale, and allow us to move quickly without impacting customer access
  • Design systems that allow us to optimize checkout funnels in each key market
  • Debug production issues across different services and levels of the stack

Qualifications

Essential

  • Culture of code reviews, writing technical specs, and collaborating closely with other people (not a solo hacker)
  • Able to write efficient SQL queries and design schemas for relational databases
  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of backend programming experience in a professional environment. 

Ideal

  • Experience building high-traffic websites
  • Ability to work in agile environments with frequent deployments
  • Writing code that is unit-testable
