Title of research: Examination of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the existing links between psychosocial risk factors at work, psychological safety, work engagement and intention to leave among Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR)

You are invited to participate in a research project led by Stéphanie Maillet, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Administration of the Université de Moncton in New-Brunswick. The objective of this study is to explore the moderating role of psychological safety in the relationship between psychosocial risk factors, work engagement and intention to leave among Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Description: You are invited to complete a self-administered, anonymous survey if you have a CPHR designation and have been working in your current organization as a human resources professional for at least 6 months.  Questions focus on your perception of psychosocial risk factors, work engagement, intent to leave, and psychological safety at work. A few demographic questions are also requested. Submission of the survey will indicate your voluntary consent to participate in this study. The time required to complete the survey is approximately 10 minutes.

Participation: Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. Your participation in this study is of primary importance, but you have the right to refuse to answer the questions or to terminate your participation at any time without having to give any reason or suffer any prejudice whatsoever. Once the survey is submitted, it will be impossible to delete it since no identifying information is collected.

Confidentiality: It will not be possible, at any time, to know your identity. All information collected during the research project will remain anonymous. Since the data is stored on the American site “Survey Monkey”, the researcher cannot fully guarantee the confidentiality of the data. The data collected will be kept for a minimum of five (5) years after the end of the data collection period.

Potential benefits and risks of participation: Your participation in this research project will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in regards to the moderating role of psychological safety in explaining the relationship between psychosocial risk factors at work, work engagement, and intent to leave among Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. There should be no significant inconvenience to you in participating in this research project, other than volunteering your time. If you suffer emotional effects during or following the completion of the survey due to the nature of the questions, please contact the researcher for available support resources.
