OPtimal TIming for initiating antibiotic therapy in non-severe Ventilator Associated Pneumonia in IC

What is the OPtimal TIming for initiating antibiotic therapy in non-severe Ventilator Associated Pneumonia in intensive care units (ICU)?

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is the leading cause of nosocomial infection in ICU. It leads to longer duration of mechanical ventilation, longer stays in ICU and in hospital, and higher costs and consumption of antibiotics. The rational use of antibiotics in hospitals has been the subject of numerous studies and improvement plans, notably through the introduction of ministerial plan to reduce antibiotic resistance. In ICU, particular attention is paid to antibiotic therapy management. Inappropriate empirical antibiotic therapy increases morbidity and mortality. For this reason, we are using this survey to assess the factors influencing the delay in initiating antibiotic therapy for suspected non severe VAP. This survey is submitted to all physicians working in any intensive care units in the world.
