1. Introduction
As a coalition of community organizations, the CDC RDP aims to initiate and actively participate in the development of a large-scale socio-community center that will significantly change the dynamic of the RDP neighborhood.The “Pavillon des communs,” a vibrant space reflecting the neighborhood’s identity, will primarily host community and social economy organizations. Depending on citizen needs, it may also include commercial and institutional spaces offering a range of services to the entire population.
In addition to the services offered by the tenant organizations, why not...
- A component of sports, arts, science, and technology clubs or classes;
- Rental and rental spaces (collaborative office spaces, conference or performance halls, etc.);
- Local businesses (restaurants, bakeries, bookstores, etc.);
- A childcare center;
- A university pavilion...
*The founding committee of this initiative currently includes: L'Art-Rivé, le Carrefour jeunesse emploi de RDP (Youth Employment Center), PME MTL de l'Est de l'île, le Centre des femmes de RDP (RDP Women's Center), la Corporation Mainbourg et la Corporation de développement communautaire de RDP (RDP Community Development Corporation).
