The MaVoixCompte movement, an initiative of the Réseau des carrefours jeunesse-emploi du Québec (RCJEQ), maintains that the integration of youth in advocacy actions and their active participation are at the heart of the strategy to develop the ability to act. These principles are part of the process which offers youth the possibility of defending their rights, by creating an environment which allows them to express their concerns, ideas and recommendations, while being heard by decision-makers and those in charge. They reinforce dignity, justice, equity and equality, by permitting youth to express themselves and participate in society as citizens.

For this reason, we are launching a vast youth consultation campaign in Quebec so that they can draw up one or more concrete lines of action which resemble them and bring them together.

This consultation follows our first edition in 2018 will focus this time on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs and their associated 169 targets are part of the 2039 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which sets directions for development policies and financing for the next 15 years. The program is an action plan for humanity, for the planet and for prosperity, reinforcing peace and requiring partnerships for its implementation.

The SDGs represent a people-centered program that is a catalyst of change based on principles of transparency, participation and inclusion. The goals are universal, inclusive and represent an ambitious commitment to humanity and the planet.

One of the most simple and effective way to impact and change behaviour is to speak up and inspire others to act. SO, MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

If you have any questions, please contact Marie-Michelle Fortin and/or refer to the MaVoixCompte website.

P.S. If you would like to participate in a face-to-face consultation on this topic, I invite you to contact your CJE to find out when the consultation will take place.
