Respiratory virus-associated lower respiratory tract infections in critically ill adult patients: a survey of knowledges and practices among European Intensivists.

In the field of lung infectious diseases, respiratory viruses, including influenza and non-influenza viruses, are of growing concern. Given the lack of guidance from both medical literature and academic clinical practice guidelines, it is likely that attitudes regarding the diagnosis and therapeutic management of respiratory virus-associated severe lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) vary widely among European intensivists.

The purpose of this survey is to provide data regarding the knowledge and the management of respiratory virus-associated severe LRTI by European intensivists. These data will guide future prospective studies aiming to better characterized the use and the impact of molecular diagnostic tests and the optimal therapeutic management of viruses-associated LRTI.

The survey begins with a quick characterization of your working environment. The following thirty questions will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Your responses will be kept confidential and no identifiable information will be collected. If you have any question about this survey please contact the Principal Investigator, Dr. Guillaume Voiriot (guillaume.voiriot@aphp.fr).

We thank you for your time and your support,

 Sincerely yours,
