WHO ARE WE?
The Alliance for Health Promotion, a Geneva-based coalition of international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), academic institutions and other Civil Society actors from different sectors who share their commitment to improving people’s health through health promotion globally.
The Alliance is in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) and has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
OUR PROJECT
Health Promotion in Pandemics: Awareness Training for Youth is a project created in partnership with Health Nexus and Réseau Éducation et Solidarité, that aims at raising awareness on health promotion, mental health and well-being for youth between 15 and 20 years old living in Geneva. The goal of the project is to increase young people's resilience to pandemics and to help them better manage their own health, while creating an opportunity to connect and exchange with international experts. This project is supported by the State of Geneva.
OUR PURPOSE?
We are seeking your expertise for a youth, Geneva-based pilot project in health promotion, mental health and well-being. With answering our survey, you will share your expertise to create an International Experts’ Database, which will allow us to bridge the gap between youth and internationally recognised experts from diverse fields.
Your expertise will help us engage with the following populations:
-French and English-speaking youth communities between 15-20 years old (Secondary II);
- Students between 18-25 years old;
- Vulnerable students (students who have a history of dropping out of the educational system, recent graduates);
- Educational structures for students 15-20 years old
- School nurses, specialists, mental health practitioners, social workers, educators and teachers;
- Community centres, communities, youth groups and vulnerable youth;
WHAT ARE WE PLANNING FOR 2021?
We are committed to the following deliverables:
1. Creating networking opportunities, linking the Alliance to the educational Geneva-based structures;
2. International and Geneva-based health promotion experts database;
3. Health Promotion needs assessment among the target populations through surveys;
4. Production of one webinar focused on health promotion, mental health and well-being, which will address the issues mirrored from the surveys.
